Sony announces 9.9mm LCD HDTV
Sony has announced the world’s thinnest LCD HDTV, the KDL-40ZX1 which measures just 9.9mm at its thinnest point, and weighs in at 26 pounds.

The previous title-holder, a Hitachi HDTV, was nearly twice as thick.

The 40-inch KDL-40ZX1 display features LED backlighting, 3,000:1 contrast ratio, 120Hz MotionFlow tech, x.v.Color and BRAVIA Engine 2 image processing.

There is only one HDMI port in the screen, but an external port box provides 3 HDMI, 2 component, s-video, VGA, USB, mouse, and LAN connections.

The set is retailing in Japan for 490,000 yen ($4,474 U.S.).
