TANDBERG Television Fully HD Games

TANBERG Television have announced that they will play a major part in the worldwide feed of the Beijing 2008 Summer Games, which has a potential 4 billion for an audience.
With the use of MPEG-4 AVC and MPEG-2 compression equipment and professional receivers as well, TANBERG will play major roles in the distribution of the games across local, national, and worldwide networks, for one of the biggest predicted broadcasts ever.
August 8th is the big day for most broadcasters, and for the viewers, who will be in 220 different countries and can expect around 5,000 hours of high definition coverage, up from the 2004 event which covered only 3,800 hours.
The coverage, which will last just over two weeks will see TANBERG, who have developed both the MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 AVC, utilise the tools available to make this year’s games a premium viewing experience.
Hopefully all should run smoothly, although TANBERG do have support ready to jump into action, based in China.
nCompass Control will also oversee the whole operation, working with TANBERG to ensure, again, everything runs smoothly.
The event will feature 10,500 athletes, and around 500,000 spectators are expected to attend some part of the event.
