Dell S2409W LCD Monitor

Story link: Dell S2409W LCD Monitor by Franz Bicar

It’s always an advantage to have a dual-purpose equipment. You get two equipment for the price of one. The Dell S2409W gives you that, a 24-inch LCD best used as a computer monitor but can also very well serve as an HDTV.

The Dell S2409W 24-inch LCD computer monitor has a HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, aka Full HD / 1080p, perfect for viewing HD content such as blu-ray or for use with a HD console.

The 24-inch S2409W switches from the 16:10 aspect ratio to a wider 16:9. While this results in a lower resolution of 1,920 x 1,080, it makes it perfect for folks who want to catch movies on the Blu-ray format using their PC.

Its inputs include a VGA, DVI and HDMI option which makes connecting to other HD devices easy, delivering digital images and audio via one cable.  The HDMI input supports DHCP allowing it to display protected content such as blu-ray movies, allowing you to use the Full HD 24-inch monitor as an HDTV.

The HDMI input also makes this a mouth watering proposition to hook up your Xbox 360 or PS3 directly, letting you enjoy High Definition graphics without forking out the dough for a new TV.

Other features of the Dell S2409W include a 300 cd/m2 brightness, fast response time of 5ms, a 1,000:1 contrast ratio and a 160-170 degree viewing angle.
