LG 47LG50 LCD HDTV
On the outside, the LG 47LG50 is a beauty. It is a 47″ LCD widescreen, a slim profile, and no speakers marring its glossy, black surface.
What you don’t know is that beneath that pretty exterior beats the heart of a workhorse. Because it can’t just look good hanging on your wall, it has to pull its weight where the picture is concerned.
With Full HD 1080p resolution, a high contrast ratio, and an AV mode that automatically tailors its settings for movies, sports, or games, the 47LG50 ensures that your picture looks as good as possible under any condition.
With over two million pixels to form every nuance of color and motion on your screen, you’ll see details you’ve never seen before. The 1920 x 1080p native resolution in the 47LG50 is as good as resolution gets. Plus, with LG’s proprietary Intelligent Sensor, your picture will automatically adjust itself, ensuring that it looks great in all viewing conditions.
If you have lots of entertainment equipment, like DVD player, MP3 player, TiVo, and Blu-ray player, then those can easily be interfaced with the LG 47LG50. The 47LG50 easily connects to external devices, so you have the widest array of programming options. Three HDMI jacks accommodate cable, satellite, DVD, HDTV, and other popular programming sources. There’s even a USB jack for viewing jpegs or listening to mp3 files. Use the PC input to turn the 47LG50 into a very large computer screen.
Just like choosing different sound effects on a stereo, the 47LG50 lets you choose image options that enhance whatever you’re watching. AV Mode optimizes the picture into Cinema Mode, Sports Mode, and Game Mode. And Expert Mode has been certificated by the ISF (Imaging Science Foundation) picture quality calibration institution, making it possible to finely tune the picture at a professional level. The result is a dynamic HDTV that is adaptable to many different modes and settings.
The unique sound system on the 47LG50 further accentuates the beauty of the product, incorporating speaker actuators around the perimeter of the entire bezel, and at the same time, eliminating traditional speaker drivers and associated grills. This not only allows for a sleek, finished look, but also creates a virtual wall of sound.
The LG Simplink, also known as HDMI-CEC, allows for easy, direct, user-friendly control of other LG Simplink products using the existing HDMI connection. HDMI is the only interface in consumer electronics that can carry both uncompressed high-definition (HD) video and uncompressed multi-channel audio in all high definition formats including 720p and 1080i. An all-digital, uncompressed signal translates into the highest quality video and audio, seen and heard, direct from the source. Even if you have components that don’t provide a high definition signal, a built-in image scaler handles inputs from a variety of digital and analog sources. This means the 47LG50 will scale a standard definition picture up to high definition.
