Bargain Blu-ray players coming to Asda
Asda’s parent company, Wal-Mart, is selling budget Blu-ray players in stores in the USA, and the company has confirmed that they will be also be available in Asda’s UK stores in the not too distant future.

Blu-ray players are already available in some Asda stores. The company sells the Panasonic DMPBD30, SharpBD-HP20H, Sony BDPS300B, and Samsung BDP1400.

The cheapest of these is the Profile 1.1 BDP1400, which is available online for £259.32.

In comparison, the Profile 2.0 BDP1500 sells in WalMart stores for $350 (£180). WalMart is the largest retailer in the world.

Anyone who doesn’t want to wait for Asda to start offering bargain blu-ray players can currently buy the Samsung BD-P1400/XEU from Play.com for just £199.99.
