Mitsubishi LT-52244 LCD HDTV

Story link: Mitsubishi LT-52244 LCD HDTV by Franz Bicar

Mitsubishi has consistently being praised with the performance and quality of most of their HDTVs. The Mitsubishi LT-52244 is not so different. It has achieved very good performance scores that users are automatically attracted to it.

The only thing that’s keeping this set as being one of the best is its oversaturated colors. With both high-definition and standard-definition content, some images are shown with lurid tones with some background pixelation. High-definition movies exhibited garish colors showed shimmery wood grain and fabric, and orange skin tones.

Along with the set is Mitsubishi’s remote that is fully backlit when a button is pressed. White rubberized buttons provide an agreeably tactile feel. The buttons are logically organized, too, simplifying the task of getting through the on-screen display settings.

The set also comes in with a DeepField Imager setting. This adjusts contrasts and brightness dynamically as it analyzes images for dark and light areas. A demonstration menu option shows the marked difference between a standard setting and the DeepField setting.

The set has a base stand that swivels 30 degrees to the left or right, for increased flexibility in positioning the TV panel. The included CableCard slot invites you to avoid using a cable box.

The LT-52244 does have its built-in speakers, but as expected, they don’t provide the range and fullness of sound turned in by other TVs.

Ultimately, the Mitsubishi LT-52244’s performance is lackluster. Other HDTVs in the same price range are easily available and has an even better performance than the LT-52244.
