SDV, or Switched Digital Video technology, distributes video over cable TV coaxial lines more effectively and, according to In-Stat, it is helping cable operators expand HDTV and high speed data services.
Recent research by In-Stat revealed that large cable TV systems will drive the early market from 2008, at $165 billion, to an anticipated $1 billion in 2012.
The report gives an insight to the future with SDV and suggests medium cable operators will become a factor in 2009, and small operators in 2010, not to mention establishing a base for how the market will develop.
