kdl-52xbr4.jpgWhen it comes to home entertainment systems, nothing beats Sony. Sure, there are companies that produced great home entertainment products. There are even others that may have caught up with Sony. But the fact still remains, Sony leads the pack.

Their Sony Bravia KDL-52XBR4 HDTV is a testament to this claim. It has a distinctive and attractive cabinet design to match its strong performance. This 52-inch LCD set posted one of the highest overall image-quality score in its size category from different test sites.

First of all, it is good to know that this HDTV produced very good results when displaying various scenes with natural, vibrant colors. Skin tones look very natural with solid and finely balanced colors when tasked to display High Definition signals. The set delivered unrivaled brightness and contrast quality, including easily discernible detail in dark areas.

The design of the set is basically that of other HDTV sets in the market. Its black bezel is a little wider than the norm, especially on the left and right sides, and it’s surrounded by a glass frame with a metal border for a unique and pleasing floating glass effect.

Its on-screen menu is very intuitive and will be easily understood especially to anyone who owns a PlayStation 3 or PlayStation Portable game console. You use smoothly sliding animated icons to navigate myriad options for adjusting the TV’s settings. The White Balance section of the OSD lets you control the color temperature of the TV–RGB gain for bright scenes and RGB bias for darker scenes–at a granular level.

Built-in speakers on the TV provided rich, full sound. This is very useful to those who won’t bother spending more money in getting extra set of external speakers.

The Sony Bravia KDL-52XBR4 will satisfy videophiles with its natural-looking colors and fine detail reproduction. Fashion-conscious buyers will also like its striking design and replaceable bezel.
