samsung-hp-t5054.jpgPlasma televisions are getting cheaper and cheaper right now. If you are looking for one, then this set may be the one for you. Although its not that fresh out of the manifacturing line, this set still has some punch in it that you will definitely love.

Samsung’s HPT5054 is the choice of value conscious plasma HDTV enthusiasts. Whether you’re in a dark room or in broad daylight, the picture remains amazingly crisp and vibrant, thanks to Samsung’s FilterBright anti-reflection technology.

Even in moonlit scenes, the HPT5054’s 15,000:1 contrast ratio and 18-bit technology let you see every shadowy detail and natural, rich color. Advanced Samsung plasma picture technology delivers sharper screen text, while eliminating noise.

Samsung also introduces an innovative auto-pixelshift technology that makes picture burn-in a thing of the past. Experience robust, 3-dimensional TruSurround XT sound. Connect all your digital devices and peripherals courtesy of 3 HDMI ports and a full complement of audio and video inputs. Control all your CEC-compliant digital devices through the one HPT5054 remote. And it’s ENERGY STAR Compliant, so you’ll use less energy.

The HPT5054 includes three HDMI connections which allow for the transmission of both video and audio digital signals through a single cable for higher quality and fewer wires.

The HDMI connections are also CEC-compliant, which means one remote can control all the CEC devices with one-touch operation. You can connect your DVD and DTV sources with two component video (Y/Pb/Pr) inputs.

You also get S-Video and composite video inputs, along with optical digital audio outputs for transferring high-quality sound. What’s more, the HPT5054 can also function as a PC monitor thanks to PC inputs.

When it comes to displaying pictures how you want to see them, Samsung TVs get the job done. Built-in analog tuners allow you to connect with an RF signal cable directly to the set and watch TV right out of the box, or use the integrated ATSC tuner to pick up high definition programs broadcast over the air.

Picture-in-Picture (PIP) gives you convenient simultaneous viewing of TV and video or PC sources. At the same time, the FilterBright Anti Glare Filter enhances contrast ratio in bright rooms even in the daytime and improves overall brightness for clearer image details.

The HPT5054’s wide screen aspect ratio means your screen is filled with DVD and HDTV images which are increasingly available and presented in wide screen formats. The new 18-bit processing capability of DNIe and the Natural True Color technology allows you to enjoy brilliant colors on the HPT5054.

Samsung Plasma TVs provide vivid, life-like images that rival reality. DNIe technology offers digital perfection in naturally presented, crystal-clear images that uncover even the most minute detail. DNIe is made up of a Motion Optimizer, a Contrast Enhancer, a Color Optimizer, and a Detail Enhancer. The silhouette editor delivers clear images without contour lines. Add to that a 15,000:1 contrast ratio, and you’ll see details you’ve never picked up before.

The HPT5054 is not only built to last, it’s also built to be energy efficient. First, it’s important to know that Samsung’s new panels are made to last longer–this one has a 60,000 hour panel life. Anti-burn-in technology uses auto pixel shift, signal pattern processing function, and all white screens to ensure that no images are burned into your plasma panel. And the HPT5054 is ENERGY STAR compliant, which means its power consumption is significantly lower than other models.

With the HPT5054, true theater quality sound is part of the experience. SRS TruSurround XT delivers an amazing simulated effect using TruBass virtual woofer effect, Dialog Clarity, and WOW stereo enhancement. The set’s built-in 2-way speaker system is powered by the built-in 10-watt per channel audio amplifier and sounds terrific.
