Samsung has added three HDMI inputs to the LNT5281F. Even if you have components that don’t provide a high definition signal, a built-in image scaler handles inputs from a variety of digital and analog sources. This means the LNT5281F will scale a standard definition picture up to high definition.

If you are not convinced with going for HDMI, the LNT5281F includes two S-video inputs, two component video inputs, and A/V inputs which assures that your older DVD player or even older VCR can still be used with this set.

The LNT5281F is also HDMI-CEC ready. CEC allows you to link HDMI-connected equipment in a whole new way. When CEC is enabled, it allows the remote control for one device to communicate with, and control, another device.
