samsung-fp-t5894.jpgTired of messing up your home with all those wires? Well, not anymore, the new Samsung FP-T5894 includes a wireless home A/V center that enables wireless communication between the FPT5894 and components - like your DVD player or your cable/satellite box. This television’s connections are long gone. Designers of the FP-T5894 moved it to the back of the separate wireless base station.

As a result, the only wire coming from the panel is the power cord. This could potentially save hundreds of dollars in installation fees if you want to wall-mount your FPT5894 because not having to run interconnects through the wall makes wall installation much simpler.

The base station communicates with the television via a 802.11n wireless standard at speeds up to 150Mbps, which is plenty for 1080p video.

The FP-T5894’s base station includes connection such as three HDMI jacks, two component video inputs, and so on.

When it comes to reliability, you can count on the Samsung FPT5894 Plasma HDTV. That’s because it is held up to the highest of standards when it comes to quality and longevity. Samsung Plasma HDTVs last 60,000 hours to half-brightness. If you break it down, that means if you watch TV every day for 6 hours, the screen would remain crisp and clear for 27 years.

Conventional Plasma HDTVs use 10-bit color processing that produces up to 1.07 billion colors. But Samsung has taken HDTV Plasma to the next level with sets that have 18-bit color processing. These technologically advanced color processing methods can produce astonishing natural, true-to-life colors. It also aids in video signal processing of analog sources to ensure a more natural and vivid picture.

But not only that, the Samsung unit features FilterBright technology that videophiles will love. In bright environments the display quality of conventional plasma TVs can be compromised by external light. Samsung’s FPT5894 plasma TV boasts a combination of FilterBright technology, Super Black Panel and Optimal Light Filter to bring you sharp contrast, unbelievable detail and pure clarity in any lighting condition.

Samsung’s patented FilterBright technology features a pair of powerful internal filters that absorb external light and transmit internal light. This process increases the bright room contrast, helping maintain a sharper image in any light.

The FPT5894 takes full advantage of DNIe (Digital Natural Image engine) technology. DNIe provides five image processors and a six-times density enhancer that help produce truer color and higher contrast for a sharp and clear image.

This enhances and improves viewing experience including Contrast Enhancer, which enhances brightness and contrast levels for deeper, richer blacks and greater detail, and more natural whites.

As the evolution of television continues, Samsung has been able to advance select sets to produce untis with a full 1920 x 1080 progressive resolution (1080p). This incredible resolution not only means that these sets are ready for new digital game and movie formats, but they are also able to show you all of the resolution from today’s broadcast formats (1080i has 1920 x 1080 pixels) instead of dropping the horizontal resolution to fit the screen as all 720p sets do.

A 15-watt per channel built-in audio amplifier powers the FPT5894’s integrated stereo speakers. This TV also features SRS TruSurround XT. TruSurround is a patented SRS technology that solves the problem of playing 5.1 multichannel content over two speakers. TruSurround delivers a compelling, virtual surround sound experience through the two-speaker internal playback system.
