Belkin demonstrated the FlyWire HD box at the CES event in Las Vegas, a device which transmits HD content wirelessy over the 5GHz band, minimising signal interference.

The Belkin Flywire’s transmitter is simply connected to a device such as a Blu-Ray player or PS3 and the receiver is attached to an HDTV via the HDMI port. The system is also expected to work with DVD and HD DVD.

Up to six video sources can be plugged into the transmitter and the system comes with a remote control to flick between them.

There are also S-Video, composite and scart inputs for standard definition television, but it does not upscale SD into HD.

The device will transmit an uncompressed, 1080p signal up to 100 feet, according to Belkin, and even through walls.

The FlyWire will be available from summer 2008, priced at between $500 and $600.
