Samsung reveals 3D ready flat-panel HDTVs at CES

Samsung Electronics is to reveal its Series 4 and Series 5 Plasma HDTVs at the CES event in Las Vegas. The sets are the first 3D-ready, flat-panel HDTVs on
the market.

Both the Series 4 and Series 5 sets are designed to be adaptable and affordable for consumers just entering the Plasma market.

Despite this focus on affordability, the sets provide advanced features and performance while offering the benefits of both a flat-panel set and 3D movie viewing and gaming.

Both the Series 4 and Series 5 models feature a piano-black exterior. A built-in entertainment mode automatically optimises image and audio quality to the content being viewed.

The sets also feature FilterBright anti-glare technology, which produces deeper blacks and an increased contrast ratio.

Three HDMI inputs are provided, allowing a variety of multimedia devices to be connected. Series 5 sets also include a USB2.0 port, allowing content from cameras, MP3 players and other digital devices to be easily viewed.

With the enhanced HDMI-CEC TV remote, consumers can control multiple devices connected via the HDMI port.

The Series 4 Plasma HDTV will be available in March in 42-inch and 50-inch model sizes, while the Series 5 TVs will be available from the same date, in 50-inch and 58-inch models.
