D-Link announces DivX Connected HD Media Player

D-Link a designer and manufacturer of networking products, has announced the UK release of its DSM-330 DivX Connected HD Media Player on 15 November.

The set-top box is priced at £130 and can be pre-ordered on Amazon.co.uk.

D-Link is the first manufacture to offer DivX Connected technology, an open platform which streams HD-quality DivX video, music and photo directly from a PC to a TV.

Users can also access online media services and customise with third-party plug-ins.

D-Link’s set-top box can also support other formats such as XviD, allowing downloaded content to be viewed.

The server software can run on an Intel Mac XP or Vista PC, and a range of connectivity options are provided including Ethernet, SCART, component and HDMI.
