LG 42PC5D Plasma HDTV
Enjoy 720p high definition plasma with the 42PC5D. The picture is terrific, thanks to outstanding LG technology. Clear Filter Pro improves brightness and contrast, reduces reflection and delivers truer color reproduction, while Extreme Contour Compensation (XCC) minimizes color contour noise for natural color transitions. This 42-inch plasma has a wide array of connections, including dual HDMI connections and even a PC input. Boasting a contrast ratio of 15,000:1, this 1366 x 768 panel also features a number of user-friendly features, making the 42PC5D a pleasure to use as well as a pleasure to watch.
The 42PC5D already provides the convenience and future proofing of HDMI. It also adds LG SimpLink technology so all your LG products can work together that much more easily. SimpLink allows for convenient control of other LG SimpLink products using the existing HDMI connection. So your LG television can talk to your LG Blu-ray Disc player with minimal involvement from you.
Six distinct processes contribute to picture improvement. But whats important to know is that LG’s XD Engine® takes the low resolution of analog signals to near HD levels by improving brightness, contrast, and detail. It also reduces signal noise, which is a common trouble-maker for image quality. Since this technology attacks both aspects of analog signal issues, the overall result is cinema-like high resolution images on your 1366 x 768p plasma screen.
LG isn’t going to let ghost images burn onto your plasma screen that easily. That’s why they invented Image Sticking Minimization — it provides protective measures to minimize damage as a result of stationary images. Say that ten times fast. Oh, it doesn’t matter — just sit back, relax, and let the TV take care of everything.
Of course, LG has included a Dolby Digital Decoder and SRS TruSurround XT so that your plasma sounds as great as it looks. You can also manually adjust the bass, balance and treble to tweak and fine-tune your audio experience to your specific liking. You can also choose between Mono, Stereo, and SAP. SAP is great because it allows you to hear audio in Spanish, which is perfect if you are in a bilingual home, or studying a Spanish as a second language (only applies to certain channels that broadcast for SAP). We aren’t sure why you would choose mono — but hey, it’s there. Choices are always good. So is great sound.
