Toshiba 15DLV77 15-inch LCD display
Toshiba’s 15DLV77 delivers the ultimate in convenience by combining a 15-inch LCD display with a built-in slot loading DVD player, bottom mount stereo speakers, and a NTSC/ATSC/QAM digital tuner. So, without using a separate DVD player, you can enjoy DVD, DVD-R/RW, CD, CD-R/RW, and VCD discs. The 15DLV77 even plays WMA and MP3 files that are on CD-R/RW discs. It’s DivX Home Theater certified and allows the playback of DivX, AVI, and MPEG4 (.ASF) compressed files downloaded from the internet on a personal computer and stored on CD-R/RW. A JPEG viewer enables you to display your digital photographs. Digital Cinema Progressive Scan (3:2 Pulldown) delivers the smoothest, most film-like images and assures maximum resolution. The 4:3 amorphous (a-Si) silicon TFT active matrix display is perfect for viewing standard TV signals and DVD movies. As you can see, the 15DLV77 has a lot to offer while taking up very little space. The set is only a little over 3-inches deep without the included stand (9.13 inches with the stand).
Quality images may be what you desire most, but the audio features on this TV are nothing to sneeze at either. Built-in stereo speakers bring crisp sound without having to connect to an external sound system. The 15DLV77 is Dolby Digital and DTS compatible, and features a coaxial digital audio output. Connected to a compatible AC-3 receiver, Dolby Digital creates a multli-channel audio experience and unsurpassed three-dimensional audio performance rivaling the best movie theaters. The 15DLV77 can be connected to a DTS compatible receiver/decoder via its digital audio output for high resolution multichannel DTS-encoded DVDs and CDs.
The DVD player that’s built into the 15DLV77 has the funtions you’d expect on a stand-alone DVD player. Digital Picture Zoom allows you to select an area of the picture you wnat to zoom in on and magnify it. Enhanced digital processing during moving video or freeze-frame playback produces superior color fidelity and resolution, even when you’re zoomed in. You can also use this function to expand letterbox-only films to increase the viewable area on-screen. You’ll also appreciate the fast scan and slow-motion functions. And, depending on the DVD you’re watching, you may be able to take advantage of multi-camera angle select, multi-language select, and multi-subtitle select modes.
Like all of Toshiba’s TV combination models, this one also offers very user-friendly features and advanced functionality that make operation a breeze, including an ergonomic unified system remote control and closed captioning. The 15DLV77 is stacked with convenient features like a trilingual on-screen display (English, French, and Spanish) to ensure user-friendly programming. There’s a sleep timer so you can fall asleep with the TV on. And this set is family-friendly; the V-chip lets you select what TV programs your children can watch.
