Sharp to unveil large screen HDTVs at IFA
Sharp plans to announce a new range of large screen HDTVs at IFA 2007, the consumer electronics trade show which will be held in Berlin, August 31 - September 5.

The new HDTVs are in line with an expected trend for consumers to buy larger screen TVs. By 2015, Sharp expects the average size of an LCD TV in a European home to be 60 inches, and is therefore considering a strategy to provide LCD screen sizes of 42in and above.

Sharp will unveil three new ranges of Aquos LCD HDTVs at IFA 2007, all featuring large screen sizes.

The HD1 Series comes in 46in and 50in models designed for pure home cinema entertainment. They feature an integrated 160GB hard disc drive, 100Hz technology, full HD 1920×1080 resolution, advanced contrast ratio of 15,000:1 and a panel contrast of 3000:1.

The HD1 series also provides USB connectivity, allowing digital photos to be viewed in high-definition.

The streamlined XL2 Series is available in 42in, 56in and 50in models, all featuring full HD resolutions, 100hz technology, truD HD processing and four wavelength background lighting (RGB plus) to ensure true representation of colours.

The entry-level X20 series is available in 42in, 46in and 50in screen sizes. It has built-in de-juddering software, an SRS sound system, powered by a digital amplifier and two in-built 15 Watt speakers.

Sharp is also launching its new Blu-ray player at the event - the BD-HP20S AQUOS. The player is 1080p compatible and compliant with all with all current DVD devices.
