BBC announces autumn HD programming
The BBC has announced the highlights of its autumn 2007 programming for HDTV.

High-definition programmes include:

• match of the Day coverage of several European qualifiers,
• the Last Night of the Proms, live from the Royal Albert Hall, on 8th September,
• Strictly Come Dancing,
• the second series of Robin Hood,
• four “Fairy Tales” comedy dramas - Rapunzel, Billy Goat, Cinderella, and The Emperor’s New Clothes,
• New Europe, a series with Michael Palin trekking around 20 Central and Eastern European countries,
• Great British Journeys with Nick Crane,
• India with Sanjeev Bhaskar,
• The Story of India told by Michael Wood,
• Ganges, a landmark series exploring how the river has helped shape the subcontinent,
• Pakistan Adventure featuring Saira Kahn,

Several programmes are returning in high definition including the series ‘Saxondale’, ‘After You’ve Gone’ and ‘Gavin and Stacey’; plus new comedy drama with ‘The Life and Times of Vivienne Vyle’ and ‘The Dinner Party’.

High Definition drama offerings include ‘The Tudors’, ‘Silent Witness’, and ‘Heroes’.

‘The Antiques Roadshow’, ‘Who Do You Think You Are?’ and ‘Nureyev: From Russia with Love’ are also being broadcast in high definition.
