BenQ DV3070 30-inch LCD TV

BenQ probably is one of the most renowned manufacturer of display products, ranging from small projectors to 46-inch LCD HDTVs. The BenQ DV3070 30-inch LCD TV is visibly designed for the average user. There are some good points integrated into the set, but of course, there are also some negative points, rough edges that cannot be ignored.

On-screen display (OSD) controls are minimal on the DV3070, although you can see the visual effect of your changes as you make them. You can set individual settings for each input, but the bulky remote lacks individual input buttons. This means you’ll have to cycle through all the inputs until you come to the one you want.

The televisions performance is average and needs more improvement. LCD-based panels are typically bright but have trouble with dark scene details. Its black levels weren’t particularly good either, at 1.3 cd/m2; typical LCD black levels are around 0.8 to 1.0 cd/m2.

But despite all of these lackluster performance, HDTV content still looked good, delivering generally good color balance with vivid colors and subtle flesh tones. The panel appeared slightly dimmer than other LCDs out there. There is intermittent video noise that can be noticed in scene details that were supposed to be either very dark or black. DVD content also had similar high and low points.

Although the BenQ DV3070 has some qualities to recommend, there are better, more capable options on the market in this same price range.
