Toshiba 65HM167Toshiba’s 65-inch 65HM167 1080p full HD native resolution HDTV combines a wealth of technology for a truly integrated experience. This DLP (Digital Light Processing) rear projection television is fully digital cable ready (DCR). A built-in NTSC/ATSC/QAM digital tuner allows you to receive standard and high definition broadcast and cable signals as well as unencrypted digital cable signals. Enjoy three 1080p-compatible HDMI inputs, two ColorStream HD component inputs, and even a PC input to use the 65HM167 as a computer monitor. After you check out the 65HM167, you’ll want to integrate this marvel of technology into your life.

The TALEN 1080p Full HD DLP Advanced Light Engine incorporates 5th generation DLP technology from Texas Instruments for Toshiba’s best 1080p picture yet. A Radiance 150 Hi-Bright Lamp with quick restart is 25 percent brighter for increased brightness without losing contrast. Quick Restart means that this great picture is only a moment away. Using 12-bit picture processing (up to 14-bit internally), PixelPure Hi-Bit digital video processing can create 4096 steps of gradation (steps between the whitest white, to the blackest black). XtremeBLAC increases black levels by up to 75% for deeper, more three-dimensional images. The TALEN engine also incorporates improvements in areas such as real speed progressive scanning, video noise reduction, shaprness, and gamma control to set a new standard for picture quality. Finally, Four-Step Dynamic Contrast allows you to customize the picture based on such factors as source material and ambient lighting conditions.

The 65HM167 features the new SoundStrip Speaker System. This thin-line speaker system with dual woofers and tweeters and enhanced dynamic range yields big speaker sound in a new cabinet that produces a television with greatly reduced height and width. The StableSound feature reduces unwanted volume fluctuations (like during commercials) by keeping volume within set levels for easier listening. And SRS WOW (with 3D, TruBass, and FOCUS) technology greatly improves audio performance and fidelity for wider sound dispersion for every listener. The 65HM167 delivers 20 watts total audio output.

Toshiba’s 65-inch 65HM167DLP technology by Texas Instruments is the only display solution that enables projection systems to create a purely digital connection between a digital video or graphic source and the screen in front of you. While all other technologies are analog and compromise some image quality in translation, DLP projection unleashes the full potential of high-quality video content. DLP projection is both a tried-and-true and cutting-edge technology.

All of the technology contained within the 65HM167 wouldn’t be all that exciting if it were difficult to take advantage of it. It’s a good thing Toshiba remembered to make this DLP projection TV easy to use. You can select from a variety of picture modes to get the best viewing including Standard, Sports, Movie, Game, Preference, and 4:3 HD. You can choose from different aspect ratio formats (Standard, Full, and Theater Wide 1, 2, or 3) to get the most out of 480i/p, 720p, or 1080i/p signals. You also get Channel and Favorite Browser, trilingual on-screen displays (English, Spanish, and French), and V-Chip for parental control of channel and programming blocking where TV programs incorporate the rating code signal. The most advanced DLP chip, a purely digital connection between signal source and display, and easy to operate–this 65HM167 has it all!
