Samsung unveils 71, 81 series LCD HDTVs
Samsung plans to launch its 71 and 81 series 1080p LCD HDTVs in the UK this month.

The 71 Series comes in three screen sizes - 40in, 46in and 52in - all with Auto Motion Plus 120hz technology. This gives twice the refresh rate of standard 60Hz LCD models, providing sharper images and smooth movement.

Other features include CCFL backlight, three HDMI 1.3 ports, CEC HDMI, USB, ATSC / clear QAM tuner and 8ms response time.

The 40in model is priced at $2700, the 46in at $3400, while the largest of the trio will retail at $4400.

The 81 Series provides enhanced contrast and wider colour range with an LED backlight.

Other features include 10-bit processing, 8ms response time, an ATSC / clear QAM tuner, CEC HDMI, and USB.

The 81 series is available in the same screen sizes as the 71 series, priced at $3000 (40in), $4000 (46in), and $5000 (52in). There is also a 57in model priced at $7000.
