HBO makes all channels available in HD
Home Box Office Inc is planning to make all 26 feeds of its HBO and Cinemax channels available in high definition.
The US-based company, a subsidiary of Time Warner, provides two pay television services - HBO and Cinemax - to over 40 million subscribers in the US.
It will start making HD versions of its programming available in September. Home Box Office will initially launch 10 channels, in addition to the existing HBO HD service, on digital satellite provider DirecTV.
Further HD feeds will be added during the first half of 2008.
The company was the first national cable network to provide HD feeds. HBO HDTV was released in 1999 and Cinemax HDTV in 2003.
