HDTV Finds Clarity

Story link: HDTV Finds Clarity by Kathryn Lang

Finding the right HDTV set is only half the battle. Getting it set up at your home can often prove to be the most frustrating part of making the expensive investment.

Many people have done the research, questioned the salesmen, and made the choice that would suit their checkbooks and lifestyles, only to get the set home and find the actors of their favorite show looking like they were standing in front of a fun house mirror.

The problem with many of the HDTV sets is the calibrations. Unfortunately, the DIY solutions that are currently offered on the market either are inadequate or else they only seem to make matters worse. This means that for good, quality pictures it may be necessary to call in a professional.

Some of the DIY solutions on the market are HDTV Calibration Wizard, from Monster Cable Products, Inc which runs around $30 and SpyderTV color meter from Datacolor which will cost about $229. Both have some good qualities, but fall short in all around calibration.

A quality professional that is experienced in home theater installation will probably run as little as $275 to calibrate an HDTV. This could be a reasonable cost considering the investment of time and money that as already been made in an attempt to provide your home with the ultimate viewing experience.
