HDTV - Getting Ready for the Switch
HDTV is the wave of the future. The United States has declared that digital is better than analog. In preparations for the mandated switch from analog to digital, all newly manufactured televisions or imported televisions – as of March 2007 - will be equipped to receive and decode HDTV signals.
As of 2009, everyone in the United States will be utilizing HDTV. It is possible to postpone the inevitable until that time. You just miss out on the unique experience offered by the high quality pictures of high definition.
If you want to purchase an HDTV set for your self, there are a few things that you should think about before buying. There is a wide variety in costs, sizes, and quality of the sets that are available today. Take the time to look over the sets in several retail stores. Don’t just go by the consumer reports or other experts – trust your own eyes. Pick the set that will meet your needs and your wants.
It is also important to notice the connector that the set carries. It is important to get a set with multiple connectors for the different components you might have. Don’t end up like us – we bought a set a few years back that had ONE connector. It took some creativity, but we found a way to make it work. Now we know to check before we buy.
HDTV is making its way into your home. Prepare today and you won’t be surprised tomorrow.
