HDTV Sales Increase HDTV Programming Increase HDTV Sales
Consumers can be heard crying in the streets, “I want my HDTV.”
The sale of HDTV sets has steadily increased, and programming providers are finally getting wind. They are increasing the number of programs that are available in HD format. Especially interesting for most consumers is the addition of prime time shows.
With the additional programs becoming available to HDTV viewers, the sales of HDTV’s are increasing yet again. Helping to spur on this increase of sales is the ever declining cost of the technology.
Spurring on the increase in programming is competition among the providers. As the satellite providers have stepped in and started offering HD programming nationwide, cable companies have been forced to counter with their own HD programming or face losing subscribers.
Keeping subscribers and drawing new ones is always something that interests the providers. It’s not the only reason they are all moving in the direction of HDTV. The federal government has mandated a switch over from analog to digital before 2009.
Viewing HDTV seems to be addictive. Those that have the option will almost always look to the HD channels first. As providers see that HDTV has a positive result in the ratings game, they are likely to continue to increase the programs that are available for viewing in that format.
Viewers want HDTV. Viewers are willing to pay for HDTV. Providers are always going to follow the money.
