HDTV prices falling

Story link: HDTV prices falling by Brian Turner

HDTV is coming to the masses.

With added brand competition and ever changing technology, the prices for these once luxury items are plummeting – in some markets.

If the newest technology is not a must and size is not an issue, then there are LCD sets available for as little as $300, possible even less online, for a 27 inch screen. This brings the experience of high definition to the common man.

The larger sets are not yet showing the effects of the lowering prices. If the large screen is a must, even with the older technology, prices begin in the four digits.

The off set brands are showing strong competition in the market for screens under 40 inches. With the added convenience of online shopping and comparison, the off set brands are pushing the prices down even further.

Regardless of which way you intend to go – big screen, or small screen – the price will jump with added warranties, professional installation, and other available features. Before purchasing a television, know the main uses you will have for the set and only add those features that will be beneficial.

Experts also recommend that the best way to choose a high definition television is by going and looking at them with your own eyes. While research is important, there is no substitute for the human eye, and every eye will view the sets differently.
